With over 50 people, Ibotta's Analytics team is a place where individuals at all levels can learn and grow in their careers. We leverage the latest developments and best practices in data analysis, testing methodologies, statistics, and machine learning to drive value for Ibotta.

As a Decision Scientist, you will be responsible for providing actionable and data-driven recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.  You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals and understand the business in-depth, support and challenge strategic options, and build state-of-the-art tools to drive value throughout our business.

What you will be doing:

  • Working cross-functionally to analyze large amounts of behavioral and transaction data to provide stakeholders with actionable insights 
  • Leading initiatives to design, implement and measure controlled experiments, automate existing reports and deliverables, and develop sophisticated analytical models and solutions to drive key business decisions
  • Communicating complex analyses and data intricacies in a clear, concise manner both internally as well as to external clients
  • Participating in the ideation, development, and support on strategic initiatives including statistical modeling and advanced analytics within the team

What we are looking for:

  • Core Competencies: Demonstrates Self Awareness, Manages Complexity, Decision Quality, Communicates Effectively, Action Oriented, Business Insight, Being Resilient
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of common data science software development packages (Python, R, etc.) and methodologies, along with strong SQL/data wrangling and data visualization skills
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly and concisely 
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in an agile and fast paced environment
  • 2+ years of practical work experience in Analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics/mathematics/statistics/data science/computer science/economics or equivalent experience
